Work Package 9
Social Value of Child QALY—Qualitative Exploration of Whether Child QALY Gains are of Similar Values to those of Adults
Work Package 9 explores the views of childhood populations, parents, the general adult population and decision-makers on whether children’s health gains ‘should’ be treated as equivalent to gains for adults. Standard approaches to economic evaluation assume ‘a QALY is a QALY’, but there is some research suggesting potential for differential social values of a QALY.
Outcomes from this work package will contribute to our understanding of social values in relation to QALYs for children.
